Loding bikes in train looks very difficult task and to deal with agents at the railway station becomes a headache at
times.
We can share what we do.............
1. Go to railway station a week prior to the day you want to load your bike train and meet the parcel department people
(not the agents)
2. Talk to them and inform them about your plan and what you are intending to do. Tell people that you are planning a
motorcycle ride and since you have less days in hand you want to parcel/take as luggage your bike and trust me they will appriciate
you for that.
3. Ask them when is the parcel loading team has off, as this will be the best time for you to load you bike without extra
luggage on it or parcel boxes.
4. Talk to a local guy who do the packing and fix him only for loading the bike in train.
Packing charges will be around 300 INR (bargain a lot with them) and loading should be part of it.
5. Remove rear view mirrors and levers from the bike as these are very much porne for a breakage.
6. Earlier the charges were 10INR per day once your bike reaches the destination, but now the waiting charges are 10INR
per hour. Hence plan accordingly.
